Abstract: Describes a neurolinguistic programming approach for classroom communication, contending that if a student's learning preference is clearly visual, auditory, or kinesthetic, his/her preferred language or linguistic mode will correspond. This preferred language (i.e., representational) system, similar to the concept of expressive language, tells how the student codes and symbolizes information in the complex storage system of the brain and how he/she represents him/herself through speech. Use of the approach is illustrated, and suggestions for increasing the communication process are offered. (5 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2005 APA, all rights reserved).
