Research Data Base [ Walter J, 2003. | Id:277 ]

--

Walter J, Bayat A: Neurolinguistic programming: temperament and character types. BMJ 326(7394): 133, 2003.

Abstract: Examines the theory of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) based on critiques found in the academic literature. NLP is evaluated as a communication theory, its phenomenological basis is examined, and its contribution to clinical practice and family therapy is evaluated. The academic verdict on NLP is given: NLP's theory of the person cannot account for the wide range of intrapsychic and interpersonal problems encountered in clinical practice. A final verdict is withheld until further clinical studies and experimental investigations are reported. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2005 APA, all rights reserved).
